T14All-way stopThe panel indicates that drivers on every approach to the junction have a stop obligation.
T15Continuation of roads at a junctionThe panel shows the continuation of roads at a junction; drivers on the road shown by a thin line must give way to vehicles on the road shown by a thick line.
T16FeeThe panel indicates that a parking fee must be paid according to the stated tariff and that the other conditions at the payment device must be followed.
T17Parking discThe panel indicates that the parking start time must be shown using a parking disc or equivalent.
T18Permitted parking durationThe panel states the maximum permitted parking duration.
T19ResidentsThe panel indicates that residents with a special permit may park under specific conditions. An area designation may be shown.
T20Parking ticketThe panel indicates free parking but requires use of a parking ticket.
T21Vehicle positioningThe panel indicates how vehicles must be positioned in the parking place and is adapted to the layout.
T22TextThe panel provides a supplementary instruction that cannot be expressed by another panel or combination of panels.
T23Tunnel categoryThe panel is used beneath C9. The letter B, C, D or E states the tunnel category; times may be shown under the T6 rules.
T24Charging placeThe panel is used beneath E19 and reserves the place for vehicles capable of external charging for propulsion.
T25Open 24 hoursThe panel indicates that a refreshment facility or restaurant is open 24 hours and is used beneath H5 or H6.

Traffic signals

CodeNameMeaning
SIG1RedRed means stop. Vehicles may not pass the stop line or, if there is no stop line, the signal. An outline arrow limits the signal to the indicated direction.
SIG2Red and amberRed and amber mean that green will soon be shown. Otherwise the signal has the same meaning as red.
SIG3GreenGreen means that vehicles may proceed. A green arrow applies to the direction shown and may be followed even when another signal aspect is shown for another direction.
SIG4AmberAmber means stop, except when the signal changes from green and the vehicle is so close that it cannot be stopped safely. An outline arrow limits the signal to the indicated direction.
SIG5Flashing amberFlashing amber calls for special caution at a passage.
SIG6Red acoustic signal with slow pulse frequencyA red acoustic signal with a slow pulse means pedestrians must not enter a carriageway, cycle track, railway or tramway crossing. A person already crossing must continue to the other side or stop on a refuge if one exists.
SIG7Green acoustic signal with fast pulse frequencyA green acoustic signal with a rapid pulse means pedestrians may enter a carriageway, cycle track, railway or tramway crossing.
SIG8S signalThe S signal means stop. Vehicles and trams may not pass the stop line or, if none exists, the signal.
SIG9S plus horizontal barS together with a horizontal bar means that a vertical bar will soon be shown. Otherwise the aspect has the same meaning as S.
SIG10Vertical bar or arrowA vertical bar or arrow means that vehicles and trams may proceed. An arrow applies to the direction shown.
SIG11Horizontal barA horizontal bar means stop, except when the signal changes from a vertical bar and the vehicle or tram is so close that it cannot be stopped safely.
SIG12Red crossA red cross means that the lane and the shoulder next to that lane may not be used for traffic.
SIG13Amber arrow or arrowsAn amber arrow or arrows mean that drivers must change lane in the direction shown.
SIG14Green arrowA green arrow means that the lane may be used. In some cases a road sign may be used instead of the green arrow.
SIG16Flashing red lightFlashing red means stop. Road users may not pass the stop line or, if none exists, the signal.
SIG17Steady red lightSteady red means that the road is completely closed.
SIG18Flashing amber light requiring special cautionFlashing amber is used where a road is partly closed or to make a road sign or other traffic-control device easier to notice. Its arrangement is adapted to the device and may be combined with an acoustic signal for pedestrians at certain public-transport crossings.

Signals by a traffic guard

CodeNameMeaning
V1StopThe signal means stop for the road user toward whom the guard is facing. In darkness it is given with a red light and may also use a stop paddle marked for a guard.
V2ProceedThe signal means that the road user may proceed and is given by a waving motion in the direction of travel.
V3Traffic-guard identifierThe identifier marks a traffic guard and must be worn on both the front and the back.

Other traffic-control devices

CodeNameMeaning
X1Marker arrowThe device requires drivers to turn sharply in the direction of the amber arrows, for example at a sharp bend. When used temporarily it has a red background.
X2Hazard marker boardThe device indicates that access is restricted by an obstacle and may also indicate that the road is fully or partly closed.
X3Marker board for side hazards, speed-reducing devices and similar hazardsThe device marks the edge of the road or carriageway or separates traffic directions. Vehicles normally pass on the side toward which the amber fields slope down.
X4Exit marker boardThe device marks the separation point between the main carriageway and an exit with a deceleration lane.
X5Amber illuminated arrow or arrowsThe device requires road users to pass on the side shown by the amber illuminated arrow or arrows.
X6Special warning deviceThe device indicates that access is restricted by a temporary obstacle or similar condition; its text is adapted to the cause.
X7Road barrierThe device indicates that a road is fully or partly closed to traffic.
X8Temporary closureThe device indicates that a direction instruction to a destination is temporarily not in force.
X9Circular traffic deviceThe device marks the centre of a roundabout around which vehicles must travel.
X10Post-mounted delineator deviceThe device makes a road sign or other device easier to detect and is mounted on its post or equivalent support.

Railway and tram-crossing signals

CodeNameMeaning
Y1Flashing red lightAlternately flashing red lights mean stop. Road users must not pass the stop line or, if none exists, the signal.
Y2Audible signalThe audible signal means stop. Road users must not pass the stop line or, if none exists, the signal.
Y3BarrierA barrier may be full-width or half-width. A red light flashes toward approaching traffic from when the barrier starts lowering until it is fully raised.
Y4Level-crossing marker boardThe board makes a level crossing easier to detect. It is adapted to the site and may be horizontal.
