Swedish driving theory: a study guide for category B
A practical guide to what you need to understand before the Swedish category B theory test.
What you need to learn
The Swedish theory test checks broad knowledge: vehicle knowledge and manoeuvring, environment, road safety, traffic rules and personal conditions. Learn the rules in situations, not as isolated answers.
Start with priority, signs, speed and observation. Then practise timed questions and return to the rule behind every mistake.
A useful study order
- Understand priority and interaction at junctions.
- Learn signs, markings and signals in groups.
- Practise speed, stopping, overtaking and risk situations.
- Use timed tests after you can explain why an answer is right.
- Review weak topics before booking the real test.
Use practice questions well
Practice questions are for finding gaps. The official questions are not published in advance, so memorising an answer bank is not enough. Explain the rule and identify the clue in the traffic situation.
