Short answers about the Swedish theory test for a car licence and about how TeoriPilot works.
What is the Swedish theory test for a B licence like?
Trafikverket’s theory test (kunskapsprov) for category B has 70 questions. 65 of them count and five are unscored test questions. You need 52 points to pass and have 50 minutes. The fee is 420 SEK in daytime. A test passed on or after 19 August 2026 is valid for one year.
Are TeoriPilot’s tests the real exam questions?
No. Trafikverket does not publish its questions in advance. TeoriPilot’s practice tests are unofficial and follow the real test’s format: 65 scored questions, 50 minutes and a pass mark of 52.
Can I study in English?
Yes. All of TeoriPilot is available in English and Swedish: lessons, animated scenarios, practice tests and road signs. Trafikverket offers the theory test itself in several languages; check Trafikverket’s page for the current list.
What is free?
Lesson 1, the first practice test, the Town drive in the driving simulator, the road sign library and the seven Driving basics lessons are free.
How do passes work and what do they cost?
You buy a pass once and nothing renews automatically: 30 days for 199 SEK, 90 days for 349 SEK or 365 days for 499 SEK. A pass unlocks all 40 lessons, all 23 tests and every drive in the simulator. If you have bought a pass before, you can extend by 30 days for 129 SEK.
What if I fail the theory test?
If you fail Trafikverket’s theory test while your pass is active, we add 60 days free. You claim it on your Account page within 14 days of the test, once per account.
Does TeoriPilot guarantee that I will pass?
No. The course helps you prepare, but it does not guarantee that you pass the theory test.
Is TeoriPilot connected to Trafikverket or Transportstyrelsen?
No. TeoriPilot is not connected to Transportstyrelsen or Trafikverket. Test details come from Trafikverket and the rules from the Swedish traffic regulations (Trafikförordningen 1998:1276).
